Thinking of those places you’ve had on your list for too many years? How about getting to the end of the world? Stopping by some of the quietest beaches on Earth? Have you heard of Bahía Blanca? White bay in its direct translation. You can stop by some of the beaches that are within two hours drive from the city.... Punta Alta It’s a laidback port town with a quiet beach and many activities and water sports to offer. Few kilometers away there’s a more remote and private beach of Arroyo Parejas. You can also take a boat ride to the isles Bermejo and Trinidad that are provincial natural reserves. Pehuen-Co Sand dunes, surrounded by pine and eucalyptus trees It’s a privileged natural site: it’s located in an archaeological site with over 12 thousands y.o. fossils that were examined by Charles Darwin himself in 1832. Sauce Grande A quiet beach 15km away from bustling beach town of Monte Hermoso, an ideal place to appreciate endless coastline in the sunset and to contemplate local bird species. Where would you go next? See more
The triple impact of Travel Boxes We were gladly interviewed by a very prestigious corporate impact builder, thanks Gabriel Destefano for the article. Many travelers don’t choose us because of sustainability, but many of them later see the difference and get to change their perspective... In the midst of the crisis, we came to the idea of these experiences. We named them Travel Box, and they are online-offline experiences. We were seeking to get beyond the computer screens and not just do an online tour, but to add our knowledge, flavors and different senses that can be felt no matter where in the world you are. We realized that Travel Boxes work very well for the local community, because first we positioned them for the external market. We are offering it for companies that look for the difference from the triple impact. First thing, as a corporate gift and as a reward for the effort that the employees are making in these times of the pandemic. See more
It’s not just California Regrettably, there are fires going on in Argentina fueled by human actions and our global unsustainable way of life. Wildfires occur when 3 things combine: Fuel, Oxygen and Heat.... The fuel can be dry shrubs, logs, branches, grass. The oxygen presence is obviously sufficient. The heat can come from the sun, from lightning, insignificant flying spark, or can be caused by humans. Climate change is responsible for wildfires in Australia, California, Brazil and Argentina, because it generates much more heat and fuel. Wildfires occur in various regions of Argentina. One of them is very close to Buenos Aires, in Paraná Delta river, so that sometimes we can smell burn here in the city. It’s located between the provinces of Buenos Aires, Entre Rios and Santa Fe, covering up to 14 thousand sq km of river arms network, islands and wetlands. Paraná Delta is an important carbon sink of the region and a favorite getaway destination for locals. Deforestations are not rare here, as big businesses seek to expand their territory for soy cultivation, as well as big cattle farming. Along with water contamination and excessive fishing it presents a threatening tendency for the environmental balance of the region. You can make a difference from home by donating to all the brave firefighters and the NGO’s that are tackling the fire. @bomberosfund the firefighters foundation of Argentina @greenpeacearg Greenpeace Argentina See more
Your departure is sad news, but we will remember you as one of the best men in Argentinian history, as well as one of the best cartoon writer of all times. You gave life to this iconic little girl and her intrepid friends. Showing and saying things that still need to be said. Grab a Mafalda book and travel to Argentina automatically. Thanks Quino, R.I.P. The presence of Mafalda and other comics characters can be found around the city of Buenos Aires.... A famous Paseo de la historieta (Comic Strip walk) stretches between San Telmo, Monserrat and Puerto Madero neighborhood, where numerous sculptures of comics characters can be observed. There’s also a mural dedicated to Mafalda in the downtown Buenos Aires subway, in the hallway between Catedral and Peru stations. Getting to know these characters and stories helps getting a deeper understanding of Argentine national psyche and the idiosyncrasy of our country. See more
