Dear IRO friends / Liebe IRO-Freunde, These days is the election of the new IRO Board of Directors. In both options there are great people, experts and friends,... but both are made up only of Europeans. None of the 2 had in mind in their formation that in Asia, Africa, Australia and the Americas there are also colleagues with a lot of knowledge and experience. Not one was included. None of the 2 proposals remembered that outside Europe there are much more emergencies, and dogs work in very demanding scenarios. Both options promise that the other regions of the world will now be taken more into account. I've heard that since the IRO was born at that Symposium in Berlin in '91. I was there. But the Directors, most Judges and Classifiers, all the Instructors have been and continue being more than 90% European. Because IRO courses, training sites, tests, MRTs are concentrated almost exclusively in Europe. Experts and groups in other regions do not have equal access to these opportunities. The vast majority of MRT-certified K-9 teams are European, but many of them never go to emergencies. They can simply take the test because they have it nearby, and it's one more certificate, like sports. The K-9 groups and teams of Latin America, on the other hand, do not participate in sports tests because here the interest is only operational. We go to emergencies all the time, but there are no MRTs here, and we have been asking for them a long time ago: our dogs are certified in level B, go to many searches and retire when they get old, without access to an MRT. Access is not equitable. The dream of training in Europe to attend emergencies in the so-called "third world" is no longer in force long ago: it is very expensive, they arrive very late, they do not master the language or the specific conditions they will find. And it is not their responsibility, but for each region, and regions already have their own emergency response resources. If the IRO really wants to help, it needs to stop concentrating efforts and energies almost only in Europe, and invest some of them in the regions to help strengthen local capacities. Wenn die IRO wirklich helfen will, muss sie aufhören, Anstrengungen und Energien fast nur in Europa zu konzentrieren, und einige von ihnen in die Regionen investieren, um zur Stärkung der lokalen Kapazitäten beizutragen. Prueba de nuevos y excelentes equipos adquiridos por la @policiadelneuquen, personal de la DIVISIÓN CANES "DMyC", (Operadores VNT) División Criminalista Junín de los Andes e informática Nqn.
