Want to spice up a describing pictures activity? The VAK game will for sure engage your students. This activity can be done in the classroom or online. ... This is how it works: Students are asked to generate words or phrases to go along with a black and white picture using the following prompts: V = visual: ‘turn the colours up’ and talk with a partner about what you see A = auditory: ‘turn the sound up’ and describe what you can hear K = kinaesthetic: ‘jump in’ to the picture describe what you can feel both physically and emotionally. I have done this activity with my students during a project called What makes a picture perfect? and it was a total hit!! #apibb #apiba #appilapampa #apisantafe #ajpi #faapi #teacherdevelopment #docentesdeinglés #docentesdeingles #englishteacher #teachenglishonline #eslteachercoach #esl #pbl #pblesl #virtualenglishclub #pblforenglishclass

I would like to take the chance to share about me. Some years ago, I had the opportunity to be part of the editorial board at School Education Gateway curating some awesome lesson plans to implement Project Based Learning in the classroom. Today, those lesson plans are readily available to take to your classroom. Go to the website and check them out. #apibb #apiba #appilapampa ... #apirosario Apisannicolas #acpi #asipi #teacherdevelopment #pblesl #faapi #docentesdeinglés #docentesdeingles #esl #englishonline #teachenglishonline #virtualenglishclub #eslteachercoach #eslteacher #clasesvirtuales es #edgateway See more

Have it happened to you spending hours writing comments that non of your students read AUDIO FEEDBACK, might be the solution. Audio feedback can actually help learners improve their listening skills as well and a lot of research has been conducted to prove their higher rate of productivity in comparison with ordinary written feedback.... How to audio feedback We should keep in mind that feedback on ‘content’ is as important as feedback on ‘language’. It shows the teacher is interested in the conversation and is ‘actively’ listening. It actually makes the student more enthusiastic to communicate with the teacher rather than just focusing on making some grammatically correct sentences. When giving audio feedback, begin with positive feedback, be specific and descriptive while giving constructive (negative) feedback and end with positive overall feedback. (sandwich the negative points). Useful tools These are two platforms I have been using for some time. They make editing and commenting easy, fun and more productive. Mote: the Chrome extension that lets you easily add voice comments and audio content to shared documents, assignments, emails and forms. Mote is integrated into Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms and Classroom - and Gmail - for easy recording. The downside is that the free version limits the recording time but I used that to my advantage to sequence my feedback. Loom: with Loom, you can record your screen, voice, and face to create an instantly shareable video. You only share a link so you don’t need to spend time and cloud space uploading videos. We can deny the importance of effective feedback for our students. I invite you to try these two tools and discover the power of audio feedback when teaching remote! #apibb #apiba #appilapampa #aprir #apisantafe #ajpi #acpi #acpi #asipi #virtualenglishclub #esl #eslteacher #teachonline #teachenglishonline #englishteacher #eslonline #eslonlineteacher #faapi #arpi

Word clouds are fun, visual and entertaining. They are useful when we work with authentic videos with our students as it helps bridge the comprehension gap with authentic videos. Use word clouds in pre-listening tasks. This stage helps learners by focusing on the topic, activating knowledge they have about the topic and providing clear view of learners about what they are going to do. ... By wordling, you can 1discuss topics with the learners 2 help learners to develop their vocabulary related to the topic 3give learners information about the context 4get the learners to predict what they will hear After the pre-listening task, you can prepare a matching activity in where students watch short fragments of videos and match with its corresponding word cloud. There are many word clouds apps available. Which one have you used to create word clouds? #apibb #apiba #appilapampa #apisantafe #ajpri_j #acpi #asjpi #esl #secondlanguageteaching #profesoresdeingles #profesoresdeinglés #virtualenglish #teacherdevelopment #eslteacher #profesoresdeinglesonline #profesoresdeinglesenbuenosaires
